Montenegro, an Investment Bridge between America and the Balkans

FROM THE INVESTMENT CONFERENCE IN BALTIMORE MONTENEGRO, AN INVESTMENT BRIDGE BETWEEN AMERICA AND THE BALKANS

Podgorica, March 18 – Montenegro should not miss the unique opportunity it was offered when it became the representative of America for the West Balkans. The U.S.- Montenegro Business Council shall serve as a bridge to connect the businessmen and companies from USA and this part of Europe. This is a big chance for the deepening of economic relations and strengthening of cooperation, Robert Walker, Managing Director of the Division of International Investment and Trade of the American Federal State of Maryland, said at the annual Investment Conference in Baltimore which was attended by 400 investors and a delegation from Montenegro headed by Petar Ivanovic, Director of the Montenegro Investment Promotion Agency (MIPA).

At the conference, with U.S - Montenegro Business Council as one of its leading sponsors this year, awards were presented to the most successful investment companies doing business outside of Maryland. The Governor of this State, Martin O’Malley, invited the companies from his State and Montenegro to establish a tighter cooperation. The Council was established to assist all U.S companies, and shall make every effort to offer them services of the best possible quality, Charles Dillon, President of the Council, said and reminded the attendees that the purpose of the recently made documentary about Montenegro was to bring Montenegro closer to as many American companies as possible. “It is important that we managed to present the investment opportunities in Montenegro to a major number of companies”, Ivanovic concluded adding that business opportunities would start getting implemented in practice very soon.
