MONTENEGRO: JEWEL OF THE ADRIATIC
Chapter V
“U.S. – MONTENEGRO BUSINESS COUNCIL”
Narrator: By now you have heard many positive things about the work undertaken by the U.S. – Montenegro Business Council and a few of its important members. To better understand its purpose, let’s talk a little bit about the US - Montenegro Business Council…and its mandate. The U.S. – Montenegro Business Council, also known as USMNEBC, is an American nonprofit organization whose members are comprised of United States and Western Balkan businesses. The Council encourages trade and promotes business and commercial ties between United States and Western Balkan businesses – with the focus of viewing Montenegro as a strategic business gateway to the rest of the Western Balkans. Also, while the Council oversees and manages the trade office between Montenegro and Maryland, it is open to and encourages all American and Western Balkan businesses and governments to participate in its membership benefits.
Charles Dillon: The U.S. – Montenegro Business Council is a nonprofit US-based organization that has been established to facilitate trade and investment relationships between American-based companies and Montenegrin-based companies, with an outlook of reaching the Western Balkans and expanding American businesses throughout the region as well as companies in the region into the United States.
Svetlana Vukcevic: I’m Svetlana Vukcevic and I’m the Executive Director of the US-Montenegro Business Council, which is established to promote trade and investments between the United States and Montenegro, but not only between the United States and Montenegro, but between America and whole Western Balkans – which is our main goal. This means that we see Montenegro as a “hub” for the whole region.
Charles Dillon: The US – Montenegro Business Council can assist American businesses in establishing solid relations with business and government within Montenegro as well as the Western Balkans. We are a conduit. In fact, we are considered the “bridge to the Balkans.” Over that bridge we will assist American companies in finding business partners and opportunities within Montenegro as well as the Western Balkans.
Robert McKinney: I think the Council can do a lot. First of all its kind of a “one stop shop” for people on either side of the world who are looking to do business in the respective countries. The US – Montenegro Business Council was patterned after so may other successful business organization of countries that do business in the United States, and I think the idea was to establish an organization that people could go to find out about opportunities in both the United States and Montenegro. Narrator: By fulfilling its mission, the U.S. – Montenegro Business Council makes available to its members a forum whereby they can familiarize themselves with the investment and business opportunities available in the United States, Montenegro, and the rest of the Western Balkans.
